Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 |

Stars Unite To Help Hope For Haiti Now Telethon – After a heartbreaking week for Haiti, which resulted to countless death and massive devastation following the January 12 earthquake. Some of our popular screen actors and music legends joined forces in a telethon for Haitian victims called “Hope For Haiti Now.”

The list of participating celebrities who manned phone calls and connected with the 2-hour telethon: Justin Timberlake, Brad Pitt, former President Clinton, Muhammad Ali, Beyonce, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Halle Berry, and many more. Luminaries like Steven Spielberg worked the phone banks, talking to donors.

“Enough of this moping, man, let’s rebuild Haiti, let’s show ‘em how we do it where we come from!” singer-producer Wyclef Jean, shouted after singing the downbeat “Rivers of Babylon,” with a Haitian flag around his neck.

Performances from Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, Justine Timberlake, Madonna and more.

Most anticipated collaborations from U2’s Bono and The Edge and Rihanna with Jay-Z. But one of the most-surprising trios included unlikely harmonizers Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, and Kid Rock. Their moving rendition of “Lean on Me” managed to combine both country and rock to reach out to a wide music audience demographic.

The telethon, shown on all the major US networks and streamed live on many Web sites, was quickly put together by George Clooney and MTV Networks, along with the help of others, to raise millions of dollars for the Caribbean country.

American Idol 2010 Guest Judges Revealed

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 |

american-idol-logoThe long wait is almost over for the much anticipated ninth season of television’s no.1 show American Idol 2010. I have been a fan of this reality show since its first season. American Idol will start on January 13 with a two-night premiere showcasing extraordinary singing talent and outrageous new auditions. And it was also confirmed that Ellen Degeneres will be the 4th judge together with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. Goodbye Paula Abdul but what do you think of Ellen joining the American Idol this season? …with no musical background unlike Abdul, but could that be a good thing?

You know what’s exciting about the auditions? There will be a series of guest judges every audition locations including some of the big names in the music industry like Mary J. Blige, Victoria Beckham, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Kristin Chenoweth and Shania Twain. Ryan Seacrest, host.. of course.

I think Ellen will be an awesome judge. She’s got good taste and I think she treats people fairly. I’m a bit excited wooohoo!!! But I’m looking forward to see Katy Perry as one of the guest judges.

American Idol is created and executive-produced by Simon Fuller, founder of 19 Entertainment; and executive-produced by Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia North America; and Ken Warwick, executive producer, FremantleMedia North America.

Natalie White: Survivor Samoa Winner [Video]

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 |

Natalie White won the title of Sole Survivor last December 20, 2009. The former pharmaceutical sales representative from Arkansas declared winner on the 19th season of Survivor Samoa with a 5-4 vote over the manipulative castwaway Russell Hantz.

natalieOnce again, a contestant who played a safe, passive game has come out on top. A game that many people felt Russell had wrapped up suddenly went in Natalie’s favor.

Sigh. It was clear all along whom the better player was, but of course they had to face a jury of their peers, one that was made up of a group of people they slighted to get there. It all came down to one question: ‘Will the jury operate under logic or emotion?’

As a consolation prize, Russell did win the Sprint $100,000 Player of the Season prize, as voted on by viewers of the show. His closest competition for this prize was Shambo and Brett.

2009 Best Musical Performance Winner on Oprah Show. The Oprah Winfrey Show has just released the online poll result for the best musical performance of 2009. Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream Still No.1 on Billboard

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 |

Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream Still No.1 on Billboard – Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle released her first album called  “I Dreamed A Dream” last November 2009 and topped the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

This Youtube singing sensation sold 700,00 copies in its first week and still topping the charts. From a simple and plain appearance on the stage of UK’s reality show to a powerful voice that gave her a standing ovation and led to international stardom. According to Billboard, “The arrival of “I Dreamed a Dream” … marks the best opening week for a female artist’s debut album since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.” – not bad for a BGT second placer.

Here are the Top 10 List on Billboard 200 Albums Chart:

(1) “I Dreamed A Dream” – Susan Boyle; (2) “My Christmas” – Andrea Bocelli; (3) “Fearless” – Taylor Swift; (4) “Untitled” – R Kelly; (5) “The Fame” – Lady Gaga; (6) “Play On” – Carrie Underwood; (7) “The Fall” – Norah Jones; (8) “Michael Jackson’s This Is It” – Michael Jackson; (9) “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” – Soundtrack; (10) “Crazy Love” – Michael Buble.

The good thing about “I Dreamed A Dream” is that it is easily one of the most anticipated musical releases of 2009 and fans will be happy to hear that it does not disappoint but I think the bad thought is that she doesn’t have  “guts” or what it takes to last in the music industry but Susan Boyle’s crystal clear voice is unlike any other, I guess she’ll gonna do well and with her new album.
